The Direct Coordinator of Life Care Services assists in the support, development, and oversight of the program’s youth care department’s education, recreational, leisure, and vocational services, while building relationships with the community, and resource activities for the youth to engage in community outings to include but not limited to religious outings.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in developing and monitor the education, recreation, religion, leisure, and vocational activities within the program for the youth
• Assist in the oversight to program’s education, recreation, religion, leisure, and vocational schedules to include assessment, development and implementation of policy and procedures
• Collaborates with program management and other departments to ensure compliance with policy & procedures development/implementation to seek continuous service enhancement
• Helps in the preparation of written reports and presentations related to the education, recreation, religion, leisure, and vocational services
• Assists in the education, recreation, religion, leisure, and vocational activities to meet the needs of the demographics being served
• Assist program management in building relationships with the community
• Assists in identifying the religious needs and aids in providing religious services.
• Assists in monitoring vocational and recreational documentation.
• Assists in developing processes to maintain inventory of materials equipment of all the programs under their oversight
• Assists in developing and reviewing educational, recreational, and vocational lesson plans for the program
• Assists in planning and coordination of special events, acculturation activities and recreational outings
• Assists in coordinating a youth council which allows for minors to provide feedback on services provided
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers and other DS employees
• Accurately organizes and maintains paper documents and electronic files
• And other duties as assigned by the Senior Project Manager of Life Services

Knowledge and Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• General knowledge of all aspects of youth care services
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to read, write and speak in English and Spanish
• Must possess strong presentation skills
• Ability to understand and carry out directions
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Flexible, collaborative, proactive leader with 24/7 availability

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors in education required.
• Masters in education preferred
• Experience as a teacher required.
• Master’s in education preferred
• Experience in Curriculum Development, preferred
• Experience with the Office of Refugee Resettlement preferred
• Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)
• Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, a background check, and provide proof of being fully vaccinated for Covid-19 after accepting a conditional offer of employment
