Position Summary:

The FES Director of Software Solutions (DSS) reports to the Chief of Staff, working closely with Operations key stakeholders to identify, develop, and implement innovative software solutions for the wireless telecom services and products industry. Software development is essential in the value proposition FES provides to its telecom vendors and customers. The DSS leads the charge in serving FES for tooling, automation, and customer needs for specialized technical software development and technical applications.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering
• 5+ years of experience in management
• Exceptional leadership skills
• Software development background
• Familiarity with wireless telecom

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• DSS owns and executes the company-wide software engineering strategy to best serve both internal and external customers
• Leads the software development communication strategy across business units gathering input from team members, ensuring continuity of tooling and consolidating redundant processes
• Drives proposals, budgets, timelines, cost management, and software team utilization
• Serves as the executive POC for internal and external customers
• Leads the software team providing overall leadership to the software development team
• Oversees hiring, contracting, and/or sourcing of developer resources
• Work with FES business unit leadership and sales to identify new software opportunities
• Owns Software Solutions (internal and external) P&L, annual budgeting, and forecasts.
• Leads all aspects of the recruiting process for FES software solutions personnel (employees and contractors)
• Utilize current FES systems, while developing a key performance indicator dashboard to track individual performance of all the software solutions team, giving visibility to FES leadership.

Participate in:

• Weekly 1:1’s with subordinate software solutions team members
• Weekly 1:1's with Chief of Staff
• Weekly Director “Peer” Team Calls
• Lead weekly status updates on outstanding projects, keeping all stakeholders apprised of development efforts.
