Performance Objectives
During the first 30 days: You will become acquainted with your new team; learn our business and our technology and systems. Review our insurance policies with our management team and build an understanding of our coverages. You will also be introduced to our third-party vendors, including legal resources.
During the first 90 days: Manage the claims process for our Contingency and Special Event Liability products. Correspond directly with our Insureds. Build relationships with our brokers and reinsurance partners. Ensure that appropriate reserves are established and communicated.
By the end of the first 6 months: Provide leadership, management, and oversight of the Contingency and Special Event Liability Claims department. Provide oversight and approval of claims payment and denials. Work closely, with brokers, insureds, and reinsurance partners to facilitate the claims payment and collection process. Analyze legal proceedings, review documents, and understand applicable statutes to determine validity of complex contingency, event cancellation and special event liability claims.
Your Background:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience.
- 10 years of relevant and progressive experience in insurance claims.
- A minimum of 6 years of leadership experience.
- Adjustors license preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
- Superior organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environment.
Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
