Summary

This position is responsible for performing daily operations at the ReStore. Some of these tasks include, but are not limited to, assisting in unloading the trucks, pricing new donations, merchandising, customer service, cashiering, customer carry-outs, accepting donation drop-offs, and assisting the driver on the truck to pick up donations.

When assigned to a Driver as a Driver Helper this position is responsible for picking up donated merchandise from both businesses and residential donors. Safely packing and delivering donations to any of our 4 ReStore locations in Lee County.

Unloading truck, processing, merchandising, and customer service. Must be flexible to work all functions in the ReStore and on the donation truck as well as in multiple locations in Lee County.

Must be flexible and able to work at other ReStore locations in Lee County.

Essential Functions

  • Participate in donation pick-up, including driving company truck HFH 17ft and 26ft box truck

  • Receive, load and unload and allocate donations.

  • Make courtesy calls to donors before arriving

  • Screen donation condition and use discretion to ensure quality of donations

  • Provide donation receipts to every donor.

  • Place and merchandise donations on sales floor with the direction from the ReStore Manager

  • Assist customers in ReStore

  • Cashier ability to open/close and balance

  • Donations- Graciously accept drop off donations from customers and assist with unloading items. Review donation form prior to donor leaving to make sure it is completed properly, with a smile on at all times.

  • Processing Donations- ability to determine which items are saleable. Clean and price items before they go to sales floor.

  • Support the store manager as directed while working in the ReStore

  • Maintain vehicles on a daily and weekly basis utilizing checklist and report repairs needed to logistics department.

  • Keep vehicles clean.

  • Check daily update of the donation calendar to reflect any changes.

  • Work in ReStore will be required based on business needs.

  • Maintain an effective working relationship with ReStore staff, volunteers, Habitat home owners and ReStore customers.

  • Communicate with ReStore Manager regularly on incoming donations.

  • Provide support and ideas to constantly improve all aspects of the ReStore.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate performs the following activities: standing; walking; exposure to heat, wind, and rain; driving box trucks and operating warehouse equipment; ability to move up to and lift up to 70 lbs pounds or more.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

The typical workweek is Tuesday – Saturday. The ReStore locations are closed on Sunday and Monday. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Education, Experience and Attributes

  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Driving box truck – 1 year preferred.

  • Customer service experience – 1 year preferred.

  • Retail experience – 1 year preferred.

  • Neat and clean professional appearance.

  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen

  • Ability to adapt to changing situations while maintaining a positive attitude

  • Attention to detail

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Basic computer skills
