At Yakima Valley School Residential Habilitation Center, we value our nurses and understand how important you are to our patients, their families, and our facility. Our residents grow stronger and more independent with the help of our skilled, compassionate nursing staff.

We are seeking enthusiastic Registered Nurse 2's who have the compassion to work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This opportunity is for Night-C shift. Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate.

Hiring Bonus
$2,000 ($500 following successful completion of new employee orientation; $500 after probation period; $1,000 after 1 year following probation period). Incentive is prorated for part-time employment. Incentive applies to RN’s new to state employment. Minimum 6 month break in service for returning employees to qualify for incentive.

Some of what you will do

  • Demonstrate knowledge of care plan development and give feedback and training
  • Assess residents for illness or injury and provide care and interventions as indicated in facility policies and procedures.
  • Document medications, treatments, and nursing interventions on appropriate chart forms
  • Implement education and communicate with the Interdisciplinary team
  • Refer to Administration policies and procedures to promote consistency in nursing practice performed.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations
  • Utilize Interact tools (e.g. SBAR, Care Paths) to promote early detection of changes in condition
  • Act as the unit charge nurse in the assigned unit
What we are looking for
  • Licensed RNs in Washington State by date of hire
  • One year of nursing experience or BSN is preferred
