Job Summary

The new hire will work with both the Licensing and Commissions teams.

The Licensing and Contracting team primarily works with financial professionals who need to complete contracting paperwork to write products with various insurance companies. The firm uses software to manage the process of collecting and submitting this data. This team also manages renewing state licenses for FHC’s broker dealer and insurance distributor.

The commission team processes the receipt of commissions from vendors and leverages our two software systems to pay our affiliated financial professionals.

The ideal hire for this role would enjoy detail oriented work, basic math and accounting and providing limited support over the phone.

Responsibilities and Duties

As a key member of First Heartland’s Commission Team, the team member will:

  • Assist firm and its financial professionals with licensing and contracting
  • Gather and file commission statements to match payments received by the firm.
  • Load individual commission transactions into commission accounting software. (Either through data feed, PDF to Excel conversion or manual entry)
  • Configure commission system to pay out financial professionals according to their agreement with the firm.
  • Process commission transactions in the relevant firm software.
  • Perform daily and weekly balancing and reconciliation
  • Learn how to run weekly commission cycles.
  • Ensure that proper parties are paid correct amount on transactions
  • Provide commission statements to Financial Professionals
  • Interact with Financial Professionals to answer any questions they may have about their compensation.
  • Engage in additional projects as needed

Qualifications and Skills

  • College degree strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to build and maintain positive business relationships
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • High level of attention to detail and organization
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 per year
