We are looking for a talented VPI Quality Associate-East Facility to join our team specializing in Quality for our Business Segment in Mineral Point, WI.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Supports Engineers in carrying out production-related and inspection jobs; assists in monitor materials quality in processing plants and making the required adjustments; ensures maintenance of documentation and records.
• Works under minimal supervision.
• Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment and products to technical specifications to identify defects.
• Conducts simple tests (for example on electrical function, reliability, and packaging quality).
• Provides product and component testing using a range of measurement equipment.
• Provides advanced programming, training, and operation of measurement and test equipment

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
• Laboratory Management - Leads technical resources while managing the business aspects of a laboratory using measure to control both the technical and business aspects of the organization and assuring the requirements of the appropriate certifications and/or accreditations are met.
• Quality Process Management - Applies and manages methods (e.g. SPC, Capability studies, Layered Process Audit, inspection, test) to ensure quality of Cummins products, processes, and services.
• Measurement Science - Analyzes measurement processes throughout the relevant traceability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty relevant to the appropriate applied measurement science, “Metrology” e.g. Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical and Radiation and Physical.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

Collaborate and support the “One Quality” initiative through interactions across all quality teams (MPT Current Product, VPI Quality, JES Quality, Customer Quality, Supplier Quality, Etc..)

Primary Responsibility for being the Prototype Romer in the EAST facility

Work with 3D measurement equipment investigating supplied component dimensional concerns

Own Build Review Summaries for HHP and Single Module builds

Support corporate SQIE led supplier related meetings with waiver / deviation requests for VPI components

Responsible for the creation and tracking of the incoming wavier / deviation impacts on outgoing assemblies

Responsible for being the voice of quality during VPI builds

Working with suppliers and corporate SQI teams on source releases and lack of for components coming into the plant

Assist with containments / Sorts / iCARs from non-PPAP'd components at the plants and warehouses

Assist with Step 3 in plant for VPI supplier related non-conformances, then hand off to the corporate SQI team and update the master disturbance tracker.

Assist with updating VPI components disturbances in Master Disturbance tracker for all non-PPAP'd components

Assist with communication to engineering on potential print errors that impact VPI supplied components

Support and responsible for additional engineering data / information requests on VPI supplier component issues

Collaborate with suppliers on their continuous improvement activities to reduce VPI defects.

Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor / manager

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
