Kendall Vegetation Services has been in business for 60 years and provides full-service vegetation management for the Utilities industry in 16 states. Starting as a commercial tree trimming company, we also provide services such as storm and emergency restoration, line clearance, herbicide application, and transmission right-of-way maintenance and mowing.

We are seeking a Field Skills Trainer to perform hands-on training with our crew members to ensure they are proficient in the skills required to perform their jobs safely. Your territory would cover Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas. This is a newly created position and your home location does not matter as long as you are able to travel within the states required.

Essential duties include:

• Travel the company geographic footprint to perform hands-on skills training to our team members in the field
• Evaluate employee skills and knowledge during the training process to ensure effective training has taken place and is understood by every employee
• Work closely with Regional Managers and the Safety department to prioritize and schedule trainings
• Learn/develop and recommend Best Management Practices for utility industry
• Ensure that all training materials and processes are compliant with the laws and regulations governing our industry
• Recommend improvement opportunities within the organization

Specific requirements include:

• Proven experience in the utility line clearance industry
• Proficient in climbing and trimming techniques, tree felling, tree top removal, and ground operations including, but not limited to, chainsaw operations and chipping brush
• Familiar with all company equipment, including, mobile equipment, aerial lift trucks, dump chip trucks, and brush chippers
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive working environment in high stress situations
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities at all levels throughout the organization
• Comfortable speaking to large groups
• Excellent organizational and self-motivational skills
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to travel throughout Region
• Valid Driver’s license with clean MVR
• Ability to pass the course to become a CPR/First Aid instructor
