The Senior Client Relationship Executive - Labs primarily serves is responsible for revenue retention and growth, client satisfaction, uncovering new product sales opportunities, and relationship management across the entire breadth of a lab’s relationship with Optum Insight Clinical Exchange Lab Orders and results.


Positions in this function ensures quality service and profitable business growth by managing a portfolio of complex lab relationships. Spends approximately 50% of time on growth and relationship management activities and 50% on operational responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintains familiarity with assigned lab’s business in the context of the overall health care industry. Understands how the lab differentiates itself in markets and creates value by showing how the Change Healthcare portfolio can support/maximize their differentiation
  • Consults with lab’s representatives to identify the strategic outcomes they are seeking to achieve and coordinates the engagement of users as well as functional and technical specialists within own and outside organizations
  • Proactively and continually assesses, clarifies, and validates short-term needs and long-term lab objectives. Directs lab to solutions that address lab needs
  • Serves as operational guide for all aspects of lab portfolio – both for existing and potential areas of partnership and responsible for lab satisfaction and cultivation of references within lab portfolio
  • Creates and delivers Business Reviews and Strategic Meetings with all assigned labs per corporate guidelines and maintains contact with all key representatives on a regular basis and serves as escalation point for operational disruption across all lab areas

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of customer-facing sales or account Management in the healthcare or information technology industry
  • Experience working with large health IT, software and/or services companies
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with laboratory testing
  • Experience working with EHR and physician workflows
  • Experience working with reference laboratories or systems integrators such as Quest, Lab Corp or ELLKAY
  • Proven track record of successful account management and/or sales or revenue retention and growth activities for complex customers or projects

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $60,000 to $130,000. Role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance.
