Job description

The candidate will work at the front desk and be responsible for greeting guests when they enter the door. They must have a welcoming demeanor, work well under pressure, and provide the highest level of guest satisfaction. Will check in and check out guests, make reservations, and be able to promptly change dates and handle, resolve, and follow through on guest requests, concerns, and complaints. Should be computer literate and able to convert walk-ins and phone inquiries into reservations to maximize hotel revenue. A flexible schedule is a must! Evenings 3 pm-11:30 pm, mornings 7 am - 3:30 pm, weekends and holidays. *Schedule is subject to change. *

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities:

  • Must have a strong sense of accountability in completing job assignments.
  • Punctuality is a must.
  • Perform property and room inspections as required.
  • Adhere to company standards and operating procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Welcomes, greets, and acknowledges guests in a prompt, friendly, professional manner and conveys a favorable image by projecting a positive appearance and demeanor.
  • Register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel amenities and room location.
  • Answer phones in a prompt, courteous manner, using professional etiquette. Screen and forward calls to the appropriate department.
  • Process all financial transactions, including special billing in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Verify reservation information for same-day/next-day arrivals.
  • Complete and verify audit paperwork and shift reports.
  • Convert walk-ins and phone inquiries into reservations to maximize hotel revenue.
  • Respond, communicate, and/or document any outstanding guest requests or complaints.
  • Make appropriate service recovery gestures to ensure guest satisfaction. Report to management if additional monitoring or follow-up is required.
  • Recommend tours, restaurants, and local areas or attractions of interest.
  • Stand for extended periods.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 15 lbs. without assistance.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to be interrupted often, while maintaining a friendly, welcoming attitude.
  • Able to bend, squat, lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Occasionally may need to walk up a flight of outdoor stairs.
  • Must be comfortable with multitasking.
  • Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
  • Bi-lingual is a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Computer literate.
  • Experience handling cash and basic accounting procedures.
  • General administrative tasks.

Hourly Rate Range:

  • $17.50/ Hour to $18.50/ Hour
