Department Overview
Gas Engineering is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. Gas Engineering aids in the operations, maintenance, construction, and planning for $21 billion in gas assets that transport, store, compress, regulate, measure, and deliver gas to 4.6 million customers. The Compliance department serves Gas Engineering and Operations by overseeing compliance with our standards and policy requirements and responds to requests for information from internal and external parties.

Position Summary
Using an established data response management process, the Gas Operations Support team (GOST) collaboratively prepares responses to internal and external data requests for Gas Engineering and Operations information through detailed research, analysis, and fact verification methodology, utilizing business and legal experts as necessary.

This position provides a unique opportunity to work with all areas of Gas Operations and Engineering as well as Law, Customer Relations, and other PG&E lines of business (i.e. Electric Operations), as needed.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

Incumbent should expect to travel to San Ramon, CA for projects, meetings, trainings, etc.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $85,000
Bay Area Maximum: $127,000

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Job Responsibilities
Assists in the coordination and development of data responses.
Ability to communicate with internal and external colleagues on compliance issues and processes.
Demonstrates full understanding of regulatory policy and compliance concepts.
Ability to communicate with internal and external colleagues on compliance issues and processes
Responds to requests from various internal/external sources for information (including interpretation, clarification, background, analysis, and recommendations) generated after regulatory filings. Researches and analyzes data from responses and information requests.
Assists in the development and implementation of data responses.
Conducts standard/routine data analysis to ensure response timeliness.
Assists with the development and preparation of strategic briefing materials, summaries, communications, and recommendations for PG&E management, client organizations, and regulators.
Must adhere to implementation of typical/standard/common corrective actions regarding projects within Gas Operations.
Monitors and documents specifications analysis results, and recommendations.
Provides analytical support for regulatory, policy, and business initiatives within PG&E.

Qualifications-

Minimum:
Three (3) years of related experience
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience
Desired: Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Political Science, or a related discipline with a strong analytical component
Experience with regulatory and/or customer service issues related to gas operations
Proficient computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Pro) and experience with information systems
Preference for applicants with Gas Utility experience, or compliance experience.
Experience in research, writing, and analyzing information
Inquiry resolution skills
Advocacy and persuasion skills
Organizational and relationship building skills
Oral and written communication skills
Ability to problem solve
Basic knowledge and understanding of issues related to gas distribution, transmission and storage, and gas operations
Basic knowledge and understanding of PG&E’s gas business operations, generation, procurement, gas transmission, distribution, storage, and case processes
Basic knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local government, political, and regulatory processes and issues
