A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR

As a Human Resources Administrator, you are responsible for providing support to the HR team, so the Human Resources department can provide each of the employees and applicants of Indian Head Casino and Plateau Travel Plaza with assistance in a supportive, courteous, and efficient manner. You are responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level in the areas of benefits administration, annual filings, protected leave, employee relations, performance management, onboarding, company-wide recruitment efforts, report generation, personnel record file maintenance, and employment law.

With attention to accuracy, you perform customer service functions while assisting the new and current employees in navigating their benefits options so they can make the right choices for themselves and their families. You also assist the HR team in the management of the employee recruiting process including applicant screening, coordination of paperwork, hiring, and onboarding, while ensuring all company policies as well as all applicable tribal and federal regulations are followed. You identify areas for improvement and work with the HR team to implement those improvements, ensuring adherence to company guidelines. With confidence, you assist employees in reviewing and interpreting policies or refer employees to HR management when appropriate. You engage your love of details by ensuring that all required forms, licenses, certifications, and clearances are accurate and up to date and creating systems for accurate tracking of these items. You also assist with the preparation of monthly reports and annual audits.

Your interpersonal communication skills come into play as you assist applicants in navigating the gaming licensing and hire process, coordinating appointments, ensuring deadlines are met, and updating all parties throughout the process. Eager to learn and improve your own knowledge, you participate regularly in continuing education and apply the latest best practices to your work.

You are knowledgeable in all areas of employee benefits management and how Managed Care and other tribal, state, and federal programs interact with benefits for both tribal and non-tribal employees. Your knowledge of Microsoft Office programs particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point are critical to your success in this role. You also have a working knowledge of sovereign tribal organizations and an understanding of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Reservation of Oregon. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • College coursework or other training in the human resources field preferred
  • Previous office experience, preferably in HR, required
  • Notary Public in Oregon or the ability to obtain Notary Public in Oregon within three months of hire
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
  • Valid Oregon driver's license preferred
  • Willingness to submit to a drug screening and background check upon hire
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a high-security gaming license
  • 21+ years of age

WORK SCHEDULE FOR A HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR

This full-time position typically works Monday - Friday from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Rarely is overtime required and weekends are yours to enjoy!
