Position Highlights
The Department of French and Italian is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Instructor in Italian.

The expectation of this position is teaching four courses at the undergraduate level per semester. This position is expected to last one academic year. This position is a career track position (non-tenure eligible) and requires in person instruction.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The candidate must be able and qualified to teach four in-person undergraduate level Italian language courses per semester.
  • Actively recruit Italian majors and minors through service and by co-organizing and participating in Italian program events throughout the academic year.
  • Hold office hours.
  • Attend Italian langue instructor workshops at the beginning of each academic semester (August and January) and College of Humanities recruitment workshops (January 9, 2024 and February 16, 2024).
  • Attend other meetings and events as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must possess a Master's Degree in Italian or related field.
  • Native or near-native fluency in Italian and English.
  • Experience in teaching Italian basic and upper-level language courses.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching at college-level.
