Carruth Cellars is an Urban Winery in San Diego, CA. We produce all of our wine at our Production Facility in Oceanside, and have Tasting Rooms in Oceanside, Carlsbad, Solana Beach and Liberty Station. Our award winning wine is made with LOVE & GRATITUDE for all who helped make it happen. From the vintners we’ve been sourcing fruit from for years, to the bottling crew and bar staff, we try to involve as many local, hard-working people as we can.

We are hiring for a Kitchen Service and Kitchen prep position at our Tasting Room & Cheese Shop in Liberty Station, located inside Barracks 17. We are looking for a qualified, enthusiastic individual who has experience in a small prep kitchen, preferably with cheese or sandwiches, to join our growing team. Positive attitudes and strong work ethics only!

This is a part time position (20-30hrs week).

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute orders quickly & efficiently during a service shift
• Running & serving menu items to customers, giving explanation of what is on the plate and what wines it pairs with
• Clearing & wiping down tables, bringing back any dirty dishes & glasses; washing dishes
• Prepare sandwich & salad ingredients at the start of every shift, build & wrap panini's daily for service
• Assist customers at cheese counter with cheese selection, ring up & close out orders correctly, upsell cheeses/club to customers
• Cut, wrap & prepare any retail cheeses or products
• Organize cheese display case & dry goods in shop in an enticing, organized manner
• Work with bar staff for set up and take down of patio, including furniture, sweeping leaves & debris, wiping down tables
• Prep front of house line items, including, but not limited to, cheese, meats, nuts, fruit, spreads, etc. so kitchen is set up for successful shift
• Assist with prepping and packing cheese/add-ons for the North County Tasting Rooms; organize items into boxes for easy delivery
• Following the company’s standards and recipes
• Clean & sanitize the kitchen, fridges & appliances up to the highest standards
• Communicate with Kitchen Service Lead when food supplies are low; help receive deliveries & organize stock
• Restock and organize the fridges & dry goods in a coherent, organized way
• Constant communication with Kitchen Service Lead of any issues, needs or concerns
• Have a professional, warm and welcoming personal presentation when engaging with with guests as well as with all team members
• Carry out all responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies as well as applicable laws
• Properly and consistently represents the company philosophy of “Love & Gratitude”

COMPENSATION

• $17 per hour, plus tips
