Position Summary

The Manager of Facilities and Training Devices directly reports to the Senior Director of Training Administration. The role is primarily responsible for the reporting, coordination, and closure of facility and training device issues. Furthermore, will oversee and manage the vendor relationship with our Advanced Qualification Facility to include the upgrade, upkeep, and operation of our Flight Simulators and Flight Crew training devices for the entire company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of our Flight Crew training facilities, devices, training aids, and perform the role of Management Representative as outlined by the Simulator Quality Management Program and other special projects as assigned
  • Develop long-range plans including the forecasting of device availability, vendor performance, crew training, crew requirements and evaluating and implementation of future requirements relating to Flight Crew training devices
  • Serve as a liaison with the FAA and coordinate Training Program Manual; Manage the receipt of FAA approvals and acceptance for the Training Devices and applicable associated manuals
  • Manage Flight Crew training resources to include coordination with Facilities Management, Corporate Real Estate, Information Technology, and associated vendors in the improvement and upkeep of Flight Crew Training facilities and devices
  • Supervise/Manage simulator technician, training device maintenance, and facilities upkeep contracts to ensure compliance with contract requirements
  • Professional development and other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years experience in air carrier training program management or similar regulatory training programs with emphasis on oversight of training facilities and devices
  • 3 years experience in facility or program management methodology and practices
  • 3 years working with FAA or other regulatory agencies on training facility and device qualifications
  • Excellent listening, communication, interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Strong organizational, analytical and decision making skills
  • Excellent computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self starter, have projects management skills, ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and budget guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years experience working directly in Part 121/135 air carrier programs with primary focus on Pilot Training Devices and Qualification requirements.
  • 3 years experience as a facilities manager with emphasis on construction modifications and budgetary development and execution.
  • 3 years corporate real estate experience with new construction and modification experience.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt
