This is an opportunity to lead the vocational services department as part of the management team of an organization dedicated to creating employment opportunities for people with disabilities. We are looking for an experienced manager who has successfully led a department, is skilled at managing internal and external relations, possesses the business acumen necessary to compassionately lead our vocational services department with integrity.

The Manager of Vocational Services provides management and supervision of the Vocational Services team and serves as an internal consultant to operations management team on best practices in supporting individuals with disabilities in the workplace. Responsible for leading an effective department that supports the mission of the organization, ensuring the organization meets the obligations of ACCES-VR vocational rehab contract which includes vocational evaluation, vocational counseling, benefits advisement, job-site coaching supports, recruitment/placement in TCS work locations and ensuring vocational/evaluation compliance with Source America, AbilityOne, NYSID contracts. In this role you will envision and participate in outreach activities to strengthen and increase collaborative relationships and partnerships, represent the organization to the community and its constituencies, and guide the design and evaluation of existing and new programs.

Responsibilities

· Develop short and long-term goals of the organization’s vocational training services by assessing the current interests of the stakeholders and recommending new programs and modifications to current programs.

· Analyze services to measure and report results, followed by programmatic billing as appropriate.

· Recruit program participants by partnering with organizations and agencies providing services to adults with disabilities to develop multiple recruitment streams for new employees

· Establish contacts and relationships leading to the employment of people with disabilities

· Develop best practices based on standards from AbilityOne,, SourceAmerica, NYSID and ACCES-VR to meet the employment needs of adults with severe disabilities.

· Review staff reports for narrative content and billing, and provide editing as needed.

· Secure and review the requisite clinical documentation on employees with disabilities.

· Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and guidelines including drafting and revising and implementing relevant policies.

· Refine processes and integrate new tools needed to improve Vocational Services functions and service delivery

· Provide leadership, direction, and evaluation of the Vocational Services staff

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required, CRC or Masters Preferred
  • Commitment to advancing opportunities for people with disabilities
  • Minimum 5 years of management and related professional experience
  • Ability to develop partnerships with service providers for recruitment sources
  • Knowledge of disabilities and workforce implications, with ability to connect with adults having a range of learning, coping, and functional abilities
  • Strategic and creative thinker; self-starter; excellent people and management skills
  • Possess impeccable communication skills across all platforms and mediums
  • Strong networking, collaboration and communication skills
  • Outstanding presentation, technical, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout New York City, Nassau and Suffolk counties with occasional travel to Albany region
  • Must provide proof of COVID vaccination

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
