The Materials Planner (MP) is responsible to provide management of materials and material capacity relating to planning customer material requirements, purchasing raw materials, monitor planning of production orders to meet inventory objectives, customer delivery expectations, operational efficiencies and company objectives. The Materials Planner manages the day to day activities of procurement, material movement, material storage, and inventory control activities of raw materials. Deliverables range across key customer and vendor management, short and long-term material planning, and materials management.

Key Responsibilities

• Support safety activities within the supply chain, warehouse, and materials management functions.
• Oversees material management for the facility to include new production to meet production schedules and confirms order acknowledgement
• Manages all purchase orders for raw materials day to day raw material flow and inventory levels.
• Place and track purchase orders with suppliers and or advise customer of material needs.
• Maintains purchase orders on internal and external PO logs, distributes to internal and external shareholders/systems as necessary
• Customer and Vendor management.
• Oversees raw material schedules and coordinates scheduling of material with production scheduler
• Participates in production scheduling meetings to provide information that would directly impact either material planning and or the production scheduling process.
• Collaborates with appropriate shareholders to determine disposition of raw materials identified on monthly old and obsolete stock inventory reports;
• Prepares monthly charts on aged inventories and distributes to appropriate personnel.
• Drive change in managing inventory levels and inventory turns and minimizing obsolescence, scrap, aged inventories and inventory reserves.
• Analyze production yield, material usage, and material loss data to understand customer/material impacts.
• Establishes and controls min-max inventory levels for the purchased and BPP manufactured raw materials
