This position is responsible for the safe moving, staging and parking of vehicles on the Auction property, driving vehicles to and from auction lots and client businesses, and driving vehicles through auction sale lanes on designated sale days.

PRIMARY DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive vehicles through auction lanes on sale day in a safe manner.
  • Drive vehicles to and from designated areas on auction premises and to and from client dealerships and businesses, while observing auction driving guidelines. Demonstrating courtesy and best driving principles.
  • Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by leadership, move vehicles as necessary and locate ‘lost’ vehicles.
  • Assist with getting vehicles operating as needed. Notifying the appropriate resources if the vehicle needs tire inflation, jump-start or inoperative.
  • Assist clients (i.e., dealers, account representatives) and team members as needed.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling Cox values and behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Required Experience & Specialized Knowledge and skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous auction experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions.
  • Ability to consistently enter and exit vehicles of all sizes and models.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to walk long distances.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb.
  • Ability to lift 1 – 15 lbs.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work in outside conditions, in all types of weather.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends if needed.
  • Requires physical ability and mental acuity to execute the duties of the position successfully within required timeframes in order to meet business requirements.
