EXPECTED PAY RANGE: $72,451 - $99,620

POSITION SUMMARY

Our Innovative Production Department (IPB) supplies and supports various automated assembly machines used in the manufacturing of the Next Generation Lithium-Ion Battery (LIB) series called Solid State Battery, etc.

IPB sales activities are centered on the development of new process equipment used in the manufacturing of Next Generation LIB. This position will be responsible for understanding and supporting the development and design process of proprietary equipment for our customers unique processes in order to identify any customer issues or needs. You will work closely both with IPB sales staff and our Design team in Japan to support proposals of viable solutions to the customer.

Minimum of 2 years or more of proven related experience supporting machine design for LIB capital equipment is preferred. (Mechanical design experience for another industry may also be considered)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development of new process equipment design concept (50%)
  • Identify issues and needs on site at customer location
  • Create equipment concept design, along with customer feedback
  • Individual creativity and initiative (develop new design)
  • Collaborate with our Design team (Japan)
  • Provide technical assistance in support of new equipment sales (20%)
    • Conduct regular customer visits with department sales team
    • Create and deliver technical proposals
  • Collaborate on projects and assignments with overseas locations in their local time zone (20%)
  • Prepare weekly activity reports and monthly summaries (10%)

EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Mechanical or electrical engineering degree in related field required.
  • CAD design capability for industrial or manufacturing equipment is preferred.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2+ years of machine design experience related to capital equipment is preferred, ideally in the fields of mobility, Li-ion battery.
  • International business experience is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and formal technical reporting experience are required.
  • Travel requirement is up to 50%

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Certificates & Licenses: Class D Drivers’ license
  • Excellent detailed and aesthetically organized presentation creation skills
  • Smooth and timely communication skills
  • General marketing knowledge is preferred.
  • Ability to properly present new ideas Mechanical Designer for LIB manufacturing machine (TBD) and communicate effectively to an executive level audience
  • Language: Japanese bilingual preferred.
  • Other Requirements:
  • U.S. work authorization required
  • Domestic and international travel up to 50% of time
