SUMMARY

The position is a key part of a medical office in non-profit, community-based, health care organization, reporting directly to the 340B Program Manager while supporting the medical provider. Following and adhering to internal policies and procedures, must have excellent customer service skills, bilingual (Spanish) preferred, must be experienced and comfortable working with electronic and non-electronic medical records, and must possess the ability to multi- task and prioritize, and is responsible for the below duties and tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Be the primary person to back-up the current Front Desk Coordinator
  • Calling patients to remind them of appointments
  • Answering and routing incoming calls (back-up)
  • Checking patients in and out for appointments (back-up)
  • Scan prescriptions/medical records into EMR
  • Pull charts for the day
  • Schedule Patient Assistance services for patients (Transportation)
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information (back-up)
  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs other work-related duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Office practices, procedures, and equipment, including EMR systems

  • Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and computer operations

  • Organizational skills; must be detail oriented
  • Open to change and willing to learn new skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or the equivalent is required. A minimum of two (2) years of medical receptionist experience is required. Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, and/or REGISTRATIONS

Valid Florida Driver’s License required.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • No nights
