Medical practice located in Sherman, looking for a full time customer service-oriented person with medical office experience handling referrals and prior authorizations. The right candidate will be an individual who can demonstrate exceptional multitasking abilities. Must be able to handle high call volumes and work in a fast-paced environment. Only applicants with previous medical office experience will be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

-answering a multi-line phone system and handling patient calls providing excellent customer service.

-verifying insurance eligibility and benefits via Availity and/or EclinicalWorks EMR

-scheduling appointments

-obtain referrals, precertification/pre-authorizations

-scanning and sorting medical records in the EMR

-communicating and collaborating with other health team members

-excellent verbal and written communication skills

-dependable, punctual, and professional

-organized, efficient, and ethical

-strong problem-solving skills

-ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction

-able to work independently and manage all responsibilities, and contributing as a team player

-accuracy and attention to detail is required

-assisting the front desk when needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Referrals: 1 year (Preferred)
• Insurance verification: 1 year (Required)
