Description:

Will be developing models specifically for the kinematics team using matlab/python

Will be looking at simulations 10 years in the future of potential attacks and how we could defend them.

Job Duties:

The Missile Modeling Engineer role serves as a developer and verifier of kinematic threat models developed to support MDA.

This position requires a detail-oriented entry-level engineer responsible for developing high fidelity ballistic missile and advanced threat models for use in a variety of modeling and simulation tools/framework/media.

Must have a good understanding of modeling and simulation methods and processes.

Must be able to research, interpret and verify parameters required to build, replicate and propagate missile or space launch trajectories to include staging, debris, counter measures and RV / payload traits.

Must be able to apply standard engineering and mathematical algorithms to ensure the accurate portrayal of expected missile or space launch behavioral characteristics during all phases of powered and un-powered flight.

The selected individual must be able to work with little or no direct supervision, work as an integral member of a product delivery team, and meet time critical delivery schedules.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Qualifications:

Level 2: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or related discipline, 2 years related experience; 0 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD

Level 3: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or related discipline, 5 years related experience; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD

Programming background to include languages such as MATLAB and Python

Strong knowledge of the flight characteristics, motion, and performance of ballistic missiles

Must be self-motivated, able to work in a dynamic team environment.

Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance

Preferred:

Strong math, physics or engineering background is preferred

Modeling, Simulation, and automation experience

Previous experience with modeling flight characteristics, motion, atmospheric dynamics, and missile performance parameters of ballistic missiles is highly desirable

Strong background in missile system engineering performance is highly desirable

Mastery of engineering modeling principles behind body motion, trajectory generation, counter measures, and debris is a plus

Ability to obtain DoD Top Secret Clearance
