The National Indirect Sales Team (NIST) Director will lead ENGIE’s electricity and gas sales efforts for the NIST throughout deregulated regions served by ENGIE Resources to achieve sales targets to Commercial and Industrial customers in the NIST sectors for ERCOT, PJM, NEPOOL, NYISO ISO’s through Channel Partners. In addition, the Director will drive the growth and development of NIST by staying attuned to market trends, team results and Partner satisfaction.

This role sits in Houston, TX and reports to the Regional Vice President, Key Partner Group. This role is eligible for a hybrid in-office work-from-home schedule.


What you’ll do:

  • Monitor channel results and market feedback to identify growth and development opportunities to create revenue opportunities through NIST
  • Collaborate internally regarding process changes or project proposals that will result in improved sales results and greater Partner satisfaction
  • Manage the P&L for ENGIE's matrix portfolio
  • Monitor NIST Broker feedback and supplier matrix rankings with particular focus on the matrix pricing. Propose and help set margin adjustments to matrix pricing
  • Collaborate with Supply using both statistical and anecdotal evidence to provide feedback about our pricing to assure that we remain competitive and deliver expected results
  • Collaborate with internal business units and Partners to gain in-depth understanding of product needs and opportunities for expanded services
  • Manage / escalate channel issues when needed for customers/brokers that require approval by Management in other functional areas
  • Assign broker relationships to NIST staff relying on your knowledge of individual strengths to optimize broker relationships and market coverage plans
  • Ensure staff preparation and review of NIST Partner Account Plans
  • Coach and motivate NIST staff to shore up deficiencies and expand on their strengths
  • Evaluate staff performance using formal and informal methods
  • Carries out other duties as assigned

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four-year degree from an accredited college or university required, MBA is preferred
  • MInimum ten (10) years sales experience, with channel sales experience in energy and/or energy management markets
  • Minimum of three (3) years in demonstrated sales leadership of direct/indirect sales teams in the energy commodities sector
  • Retail Energy Direct or Indirect Sales experience is required
  • Thorough knowledge of channel sales, sales presentations, strategic and tactical selling skills, and contract negotiations
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
  • Basic technical knowledge of systems including customer management systems and reporting tools
  • Ability to understand the various organizational teams and their relationships between groups
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff regarding sales initiatives and goals

Additional Information/Conditions:

  • Must be available to travel up to 15% of the time with the need for some overnight trips
  • A valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record is required for travel and car rentals
  • Must have the ability to travel domestically on limited occasions
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

  • Salary Range: USD $105,910.00-$270,530.00, annually
  • Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors
  • In addition to salary, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan
