Nurse (RN/LPN) Night Supervisor

Weekday (Mon/Wed 12 hrs; Tue/Thu 8 hrs) Nights

The Nurse Supervisor provides direct nursing care to the residents in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards governing the facility, and as may be directed by the Director of Nursing and the Director of Health Services, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. This position provides licensed nurse supervision for day-to-day nursing care and activities performed by the nurses, CNAs, and receptionists in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards governing the facility, and as directed by the Director of Nursing or the Health Care Administrator.

Key Position Qualifications Include:

• Must be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, with 3-5 years of experience and currently licensed by the State of North Carolina.
• Must show ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Previous experience as a Charge Nurse or Nurse Supervisor highly preferred.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical assessment practices and procedures and laws, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care.
• Must be able to assist in planning, supervising, coordinating, and evaluating the activities of nursing team members.
• Must have the ability to recognize and assess signs and symptoms of residents’ conditions and to provide intervention or referral as appropriate.

• The ability have a positive attitude toward the elderly and be able to maintain positive relationships and interactions with residents and team member.
• The ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• The ability to solve problems according to facility and departmental practices.
• The ability to react and perform appropriately during emergency situations.
• The ability to assist the physician in diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
