Parks/Bluestone State Park/Summers County - The Park Aide is part of a devoted team of lead employees that serve the public through customer service and maintenance of the facilities and grounds at Bluestone State Park along the beautiful Bluestone Lake. This team member is under the direction and supervision of the Park Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent. The popular park consists of cabins, campsites, a swimming pool, picnic areas, a marina, boating and fishing areas, hiking trails, an event building, a gift shop, headquarters, and support buildings.

Performs tasks at various workstations while serving visitors. Performs maintenance and repair duties indoors and outdoors that include all aspects of building and grounds upkeep. Provides excellent hospitality to all visitors through interpretation and notification of park rules, guest reservations and registration, fee collections, staff training, and resolving guest issues. Maintains and cleans public facilities and grounds to a high standard of cleanliness. Employee will be trained as a certified pool operator and perform a wide variety of daily routine pool operational duties at the swimming pool. Desirable knowledge and skills include: Verbal and written communication skills. Office and sales equipment knowledge.

Knowledge of building and grounds repairs. Ability to organize and plan efficient completion of tasks. Ability to operate chainsaws, mowing equipment, a dump truck, and other motorized equipment. Knowledge of basic swimming pool operations.

This position is regularly scheduled to work evening shifts which include weekends and holidays, but also subject to availability for night and day shifts. Must have a valid West Virginia driver’s license or be eligible to operate a motor vehicle in West Virginia. Performs related duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21,373.00 - $39,540.00 per year
