Job description
This position is responsible for supporting the safety and well-being on a patient requiring one-on-one observation under the direction of a Registered Nurse.The Patient Safety Companion will assist in providing a safe, and secure environment to support providing the best possible patient outcome. This position contributes to the continuous improvement of quality of care by providing patient observation.

- Possesses excellent communication, listening and observation skills.
- Demonstrates ability to work effectively as a member of and take direction from a diverse healthcare team.
- Presents a calm, confident manner in an unpredictable environment.
- Responds to escalating circumstances calmly and determines appropriate next steps for the safety and well-being of the staff and patients.
- Maintains a clean, tidy and professional appearance.
- Provides flexibility in scheduling with a willingness and availability to respond quickly when needed.
Requirements
- High School education or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
