Summary:
Come capture the moments that define the communities of Greeley and Weld County, Colorado. The person in this position will be the primary photographer for our newsroom, which produces four editions each week along with a weekly regional entertainment magazine. What you will do:

Typical assignments will range from Division I NCAA and high school sporting events to community events, public meetings and portrait shots for feature stories.

Capture high-quality images of events ranging from Division I NCAA and high school sporting events to community events, public meetings and portrait shots for feature stories

Work under tight deadlines to produce visually stunning images

Many assignments will be in conjunction with a reporter, though some will be solo.

Working with in conjunction with a reporter when required

Travel to various venues to cover a wide range of sports and events

The Tribune will provide photography equipment.

Maintaining and updating equipment provided by The Tribune
What you will bring:

A minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as a professional photographer, with a portfolio of work to demonstrate your skills.

Strong understanding of photojournalism ethics and the ability to apply them in the field

The ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced news environment, and to adapt to changing situations and new assignments on short notice.

Strong visual storytelling skills, with the ability to capture images that accurately and effectively convey the story.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as you will be working closely with reporters, editors, and other members of the newsroom team

Experience using professional-grade photography equipment and editing software
The weekly schedule for this position is Tuesday-Saturday.
The hourly wage is $18.00-$19.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition program, and 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
