Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Physician Assistant for the department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine – Dermatology within the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under the direction and supervision of the Director, provides health care services to patients.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Examines patients, writes prescriptions, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
- Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as skin biopsies, and other laboratory tests. Interprets test results for deviations from the normal.
- Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and managing infection.
- Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in the provision of continuity of care.
- Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
- In conjunction with the medical staff, develops and maintains all requirements related to regulatory agencies of the local, state, and federal government.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant studies or related field.
- Graduation from a Physician Assistant program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
Certifications/Licenses
- Certification from the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- New Jersey license from the State Board of Medical Examiners-Physician Advisory Committee.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster upon eligibility and upload proof of same.
