Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Proven knowledge of CNC/machining and automation processes in a machining operation.
  • Knowledgeable in product design and development and in the manufacturing process.
  • Basic understanding of CAD design and descriptive geometry.
  • Demonstrated planning abilities and team-building skills.
  • Automotive industry experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, and OSHA regulations a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, create, execute, monitor and correct all processing parameters for machined products.
  • Responsible for developing, overseeing, and adjusting parameters to ensure that business objectives of cost control, product quality, and productivity targets meet or exceed profitability targets.
  • Support the creation of annual operating budgets.
  • Works with other departments in the execution of machining, maintenance, quality, and new equipment installation activities.
  • Support operations and maintenance functions with technical work instructions and diagnostic tools.
  • Approach issues with a detailed, structured problem solving method.
  • Monitor processes for effectiveness.
  • Collect and analyze process data.
  • Apply detailed, structured problem solving to correct process shortcomings.
  • Correct processing parameters that are ineffective following a detailed documented process with applied knowledge sharing to ensure the thorough effectiveness of the corrections.
  • Prepare and execute Gauge R@R and internal performance tests including checklists and documentation.
  • Support and execute Shop floor audits.
  • Coordinate with Logistics and Operations to perform controlled experiments to correct or improve performance.
  • Support warranty claims to the equipment suppliers with the update of the open actions.
  • Support training activities including scheduling and executing of trainings of current and new employees.
  • Report, chart, and track productivity and quality Key Performance Indicators, primarily tool cost, downtime, and scrap.
  • Execute engineering tasks of product launches - capital expenses and processing parameters to meet budgeting expectations or below.
  • Establish annual continuous improvement objectives.
  • Advise functional managers and upper management of potential problems, risks and roadblocks while providing solutions for corrective action by utilizing and updating given templates
  • Support and execute APQP activities relating to new product development programs including Design FMEA, Process FMEA, and the product & system validation plans and all equipment required to support those plans
  • Coordinate, prepare and deliver weekly progress updates.
  • Manage engineering changes based on customer or internal requirements
  • Complete other process engineering tasks as assigned, such as tooling and time studies
  • Provide leadership through mentoring, training, and coaching.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $76,000.00 - $101,000.00 per year
