Summary The Production Control Planner is responsible for creating the most efficient and cost effective production schedule by analyzing the formulation blend, material availability, machine constraints and customer needs. This person also resolves issues for customers by utilizing “Hot Notes” and various problem-solving techniques

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, . Other duties may be assigned: IQMS SYSTEMS knowledge preferred.

  • Works directly with Manufacturing, Inventory Control, and Customer Service to investigate any issues related to production scheduling variables as well as gain knowledge of specific situations in order to continually improve data collection, reporting and inventory tracking.

Creates the best order and material blend based on delivery date needs while maintaining the ability to respond to, add on, add in, or change within the lead time.Interacts with Sales and Customer Service to ensure a clear understanding of the customer requirements.Interacts with Operations and Manufacturing to ensure a clear understanding of the manufacturing capabilities and constraints.Interacts with IT and Production departments to review IQMS system and recommend changes as well as provide new hire & ongoing IQMS support to production.Monitors Recycle, Mixing, and Masterbatch workcell production and scheduling..Become fully trained and back up for Logistics, Skid Ordering, and Inventory Management functions.Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree in business or administration desired, and/or 2+years of experience in production control, supply chain, manufacturing or plastics function or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

  • Ability to write professional reports and correspondence (reports, emails, general information) for internal and external audiences and communicate in writing accurately and concisely on a regular basis. Effectively and professionally, present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, clients, customers, and vendors. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.

Mathematical Skills
Basic mathematical skills and ability to read and interpret statistical measures. Ability to analyze and interpret large sets of data.
Reasoning Ability
Strong reasoning and analytical skills. Ability to understand and carry out written, oral, or diagramed instructions. Manage problems involving several concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to analyze and use various documents (contracts, purchase orders, etc.).
Computer Skills
Strong computer skills including Internet, email, and Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel. Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in manufacturing.
Other Skills and Abilities
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and have ability to multitask in a very fast-paced environment. Must be a self-starter, be detail and team oriented, and be able to work independently without daily direct supervision. Must have ability to contribute in a cross-functional collaborative environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour
