BASIC POSITION FUNCTION


Under the supervision of the IHPC Assistant Director, the Program Coordinator is responsible for providing various mental health awareness trainings, facilitating interactive discussions with participants, conducting outreach efforts to partners, supporting marketing and media campaigns, and support the collection of data from our partners and trainees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Facilitate mental health awareness trainings in collaboration with partners to 1) first responders (law enforcement, fire fighters, paramedics, and EMT); 2) school administrators and teachers; and 3) youth and community members.

  • Conduct community outreach to ensure community involvement, provide presentations to partners, and participate in key mental health committees, organizations, collaboratives in the Inland Empire.

  • Partner with program staff/volunteers and interns as needed.

  • Support the collection of data and enter outreach outcome statistics.

  • Cross-department collaboration, training, and support.

  • Create and maintain a creative, positive, sustainable, and supportive work environment.

  • Ensures the adequacy of information delivered to the community and the provision of high quality, culturally sensitive referrals.

  • Displays sensitivity to the service populations cultural and socioeconomics characteristics.

  • Performs work in a safe manner at all times and abide by safety practices.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS


Required Education:
Either Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Health, Health Education, or Public Health area or preferred, with three (3) years’ experience in a directly related field.


Preferred Experience: Training Instructor Certifications in QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) andYouth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) or the ability to get certified immediately upon hire. As well as a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in community outreach, or a minimum of five (5) years’ in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.


Preferred: Bilingual Spanish/English


Knowledge of:


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel.

  • Social media tools.
