US - Project Advisor:

As a Crimson Project Advisor, you'll be working with students to help them with their final Leadership Projects. You start by communicating with our students and working alongside them to prepare/plan an excellent Leadership Project, you should have experience of completing your own Leadership Project as part of your college application. Then, moving through the project, you will be responsible for making, or setting, the students project action plan. Advising the student throughout their project on areas, such as; financing, project execution, management, planning, strategy and any other main areas of focus for the student. Lastly, we will be submitting a completed Project Proposal.


Our advisors are paired on a student-by-student basis, with the control to accept or decline students as their schedules allow. Allocations are made on the basis of subject compatibility, meaning that you will be working with students hoping to pursue a project in a realm similar to your own expertise. Popular project types and subject areas include:

  • Non-profit/community service
  • Business & Finance
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Computer Science
  • Engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, etc)
  • Physics
  • Biology and Medical Sciences
  • Mathematics
  • Law/Legal

If you have a skillset, educational background, or professional profile that matches the above areas, and you have a passion for education and mentorship, you'd likely be a great candidate for ECL Advising! Additional qualities of an ideal advisor include strong project management and organizational skills, an attention to detail, and fantastic written and verbal communication skills, as well as a proven track record as a Leader in a professional setting.

Service Expectations:

As a provider of the standard Leadership Service, you will be expected to provide students with guidance and support as it relates to their profiles and leadership projects. Core responsibilities include:


  • Helping students research and extracurricular activities relevant to their interests
  • Assisting students to develop and submit a Leadership Project Proposal, Pitch Video, and Completion Form
  • Developing a project management plan for your students leadership project and conducting weekly to biweekly sessions to aid the student in its execution
  • Liaising with the ECL Admin team and the student Strategist to ensure that the student's ECL program is on track and their experience is satisfactory
  • Consider ways to expend and grow the student's project proposal by way of local/national partnerships

Compensation


The starting rate for standard ECL mentorship is between $40USD and $60USD per student facing hour, depending on your previous professional experience and expertise. This means that you will be paid for the session time you spend with your students. Please note that a standard, one hour session will also include, approximately:

  • 10 minutes of preparation time,
  • 10 minutes filling out a session summary, and
  • a potential 10 minutes of follow up or research on behalf of your student
