Renovation Technician | Woodland Apartment in Olympia, WA

American Property Management is growing, and we are looking for a talented Renovation Technician for Woodland Apartments, a 224-unit conventional apartment community built in 2012 located in Olympia, WA.

Position Information

  • Property Information – 224-unit conventional apartment community built in 2012
  • Schedule – Monday - Friday 7am to 4pm- Additional hours/days may be required based on property needs. This position requires you to physically be at the property during your scheduled shift.
  • Hourly Rate– $30 / Hour

Qualifications

  • 4+ years' experience in renovation construction and/or maintenance renovations.
  • Must provide your own basic hand tools – the Company will provide power tools.
  • Must have experience scheduling and keeping track of vendors and budgeting.
  • Must be experienced in the unit turn process from start to finish.
  • Must have experience in tracking and maintaining inventory.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and be courteous and helpful to residents and other staff members.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English

A Day in the Life

  • Assisting with scheduling and ordering all material, as needed, to complete the project.
  • Interior demolition of countertops, cabinets, flooring, plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, trim materials, doors and hardware. Interior installation of plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, doors, flooring, appliances, window coverings, painting, hardware & trim. Ability to safely operate power tools is required.
  • Identifying problems or potential problems as they relate to the organization of the job; assisting in prioritizing tasks to provide for a smooth flow of the project.
  • Helping to verify all materials received on the project as those specified and ordered, and that they arrived in good condition; inspecting all work completed, making sure that it is done to acceptable standards, taking appropriate corrective action when warranted to maintain established company Quality Control Standards; inspecting all work done by sub-contractors, noting any substandard material or installation and notifying the Renovation Foreman.
  • Promptly and accurately relaying problem, conflicts, job status and any other pertinent items to the Renovation Foreman and the Construction Manager.
  • Being responsible for all job site tool inventory and maintenance, following the company Safety Policy and Procedures, and securing the project, including all on site materials. Overall responsibility for enforcement of Company safety policy and procedures.
  • Attending daily/ weekly job meetings as needed.
  • Estimate quantities; obtain pricing and complete draft purchase orders for misc. materials needed following buy out. Research subcontractors and negotiate pricing in conjunction with project manager for misc. subcontracts needed following buyout
  • Assist the Foreman in managing on site temporary labor.
  • Maintain and enforce all company policies and procedures as established in the Operations Manual.
