Role of this position within the company

The position of Sales Trainee is an important position on the team at ProSpace Interiors, Inc. The Sales Trainee is an entry level position within our Sales staff and would be responsible for contact between the company and potential & existing customers via phone and in person calls to introduce our company to local businesses. The Sales Trainee will work with the Sales Manager to develop and follow up on leads for future furniture projects. They will work with the design team to assist clients with product & design selections, coordinating activities, including booking of meetings and appointments. This position will work as needed with the Installation crew on furniture projects as well as follow-up contact with customers after installation is completed.

ProSpace Interiors, Inc., is a Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a post-offer/pre-placement drug test, as well as background investigation including criminal history, identity check and workers compensation injury report. This is a non-smoking work environment. This position is subject to restricted vacation during peak periods. This position requires a Valid CO driver's license and a good driving record to be approved by our insurance carrier. This is a Non-Exempt, Hourly position that is based on a 40-hour work week with occasional evenings/nights or weekends and holidays. However, any work hours over the standard 40-hour work week must have prior approval by a company officer or designated supervisor and will be compensated at a rate of 1.5 times the regular hourly wages after 40 hours.

Essential functions and requirements

· Sales: Make calls to follow-up on sales leads and determine viability and location of potential projects and obtain accurate contact information. Schedule meetings with clients at the showroom, or in their place of business to assess their furniture needs. Work with the design and space planners to convey the customer needs and develop accurate project quotes. Review price quotes created by designer and/or space planners. Acquire & maintain a thorough knowledge of all vendors/suppliers’ products, price structures and freight programs to assure the best product fit for the customer and their project.

· Marketing: Make phone and in person calls to introduce our company to local businesses. Attend meetings and events to promote the image of the company in the local business environment. Build and maintain strong relationships with the businesses in your assigned territory.

· Design: This scope includes working with Design team and end users from the beginning conceptualization of a project, through product specification and space planning with the use of AutoCAD and 2020 software.

· Installation: Loading and unloading furniture, unpackaging and packaging furniture and accessories, driving for furniture transport, furniture installation and modification, furniture reconfiguration, and repair of furniture and furniture accessories.

Skills, Knowledge & Ability essential for successful performance of this position

• Bachelor’s Degree in Sales and Marketing or Business Administration preferred but not required.
• AutoCAD, 20/20, Space Planning & Design experience or relevant education a plus.
• Highly motivated and result oriented. Must maintain flexibility in a continuously changing and fast paced work environment.
• Organizational skills to meet project deadlines.
• Communication and diplomacy skills to provide courteous and professional interaction with customers, contractors, co-workers, supervisor, and sales and administrative staff.
• Hold a valid CO driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• This position requires the ability to climb ladders, crawl, bend stoop, and work in tight areas. Must be able to safely lift up to 100 lbs. of equipment to chest height, safely lift 50 lbs. overhead, and be able to safely handle a hand cart loaded with up to 200 lbs., up and down ramps and stairs.

• Ability to self-evaluate your position as a Representative of the Company with clean and presentable business attire.

• Willingness to work with other ProSpace Interiors employees and assist other departments as required.
• Flexibility of schedule to attend after-hours marketing events.
