This is a hybrid position. The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office an average of two to three days per week with the remainder worked remotely.

Summary:

Sanctions Analyst will sit within the Global Sanctions Compliance Department, reporting to the Global Sanctions Advisory Advanced Escalations team lead. This role will interface with MUFG’s regional financial crimes offices (RFCOs), other financial crime disciplines as needed, and occasionally the first line of defense.

Responsibilities:

• Review live transactions and prospective deals against applicable sanctions regulations and MUFG policies.
• Review customer sanctions exposure in conjunction with deal details for sanctions exposure analysis.
• Review sanctions contractual provisions in deal documentation.
• Draw and document informed conclusions based on applicable sanctions risks.
• Perform research on recently designated sanctions targets. Identify additional entities that are 50% and greater owned by the sanctions targets and need to be added to the sanction's filters.
• Conduct in-depth open source and vendor-powered research to provide intelligence to other sanctions support functions across the team.
• Assist with advisory-driven list management duties.
• Be able to understand and interpret sanctions regulations and monitor changes to such regulations.
• Correspond and communicate with RFCO colleagues.
• Other sanctions-related tasks, as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and deliver results
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and critical thinking skills
• Interest in foreign policy and international relations.
• Extremely organized and self-motivated
