Bridge Specialty Group is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our team. We strongly prefer this candidate working out of our Atlanta, GA or Chicago, IL office locations, but remote work is available for the right candidate.
This highly visible and important position is responsible for working on the Brown and Brown Wholesale Data & Analytics team. We are seeking a talented and creative Senior Data Analyst to transform data into meaningful insights across the Wholesale division. You will be responsible for working with the Brown and Brown Wholesale Leadership, Operations, and Subject Matter Experts in developing our data strategy and executing on project initiatives that will make us successful in our transformation of becoming a data driven organization. You use and present data to drive key data insights and can tell compelling stories about the value of data. In addition, you can strategically plan to capture additional data elements that will allow us to build predictive models, as well as come up with solutions to effectively move data across multiple systems. Will serve as key Data &Analytics liaison between other areas of the business including Finance, Technology, Data Architecture, and Sales. Will be responsible for data analysis and partnering on roadmap development to ingest data elements to run predictive models. Will interface with multiple aspects of the business on a regular basis, will interface with senior leaders as necessary.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Working with the Data & Analytics team to help develop strategy in how we can become a more data driven organization
  • Demonstrated aptitude for improving efficiency through automation
  • Develop and improve current workflow processes to improve current data quality and ability to capture critical fields
  • Various data query and analysis
  • Identifying data gaps to effectively run data analysis and suggesting improvements in data quality
  • Analyze and report risk and catastrophe management trends, including monthly reports and ad-hoc requests.
  • Analyze and report on other measures including cancellation/retention/attrition, New Business production, New Business quality, Policies in Force quality, and any other ad-hoc requests. Analysis should include a summary of findings and recommendations for courses of action.
  • Significant experience in database report development and maintenance
  • Strong SQL skills, including experience with complex queries and performance tuning
  • Knowledge of database design and data modeling concepts
  • Extensive experience with Power BI, Excel, or other reporting platform
  • Strong knowledge of AS400 query/file structures, along with experience with Data Warehouse concepts
  • Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
  • Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering degree preferred.,
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience building trusting relationships and collaborating productively across job functions and organizational lines.
  • Experience relevant to helping create success measures (e.g. A/B testing, inferential statistics, cost benefit analysis, Lean, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to envision and provide analytical support for potential future state of data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to transform data into actionable items for process improvements, engineering, and automation.
  • High level of proficiency in data analysis, statistical inference, and data manipulation, pattern recognition etc.
  • Understands business implications of decisions; displays understanding of top and bottom-line drivers; demonstrates ability to understand the big-picture.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong ability to influence people at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience in CAT modeling a plus
  • Experience in Finance or Insurance is a plus.
  • Agile or Scrum experience a plus
  • Strong team player
  • Strong organizational skills, especially time management.
  • Good programming skills and experience in software tools such as SQL, R, C++, Python, Tableau, SAS, Java, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn additional software applications as appropriate.
  • Demonstrated skillset or past achievements to obtain desired results.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to present ideas and information in a clear, concise, organized, and diplomatic manner; gather information from multiple parties to ensure all perspectives are considered; listen and respond effectively to ideas, thoughts, and questions; express information and ideas effectively.
