JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Senior Procurement Specialist will work with Procurement Leadership to ensure that the procurement of goods/services required by the Agua Caliente Casinos is done so in a timely and efficient manner and per company policy. The Senior Procurement Specialist will be assigned buying responsibilities based on commodity, service type, and/or department. The Senior Procurement Specialists will liaison between the Procurement & Sourcing Manager, Procurement Supervisors and the Contract/Program Administrator to assist with implementation/execution of sourcing programs as well as driving compliance. The Senior Procurement Specialist must possess a strong understanding of sourcing and purchasing processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

  • Ensure that all purchases are facilitated in compliance with established procedures and/or per contractual agreements.
  • Obtain competitive bids for goods and/or services for off contract purchases as defined by company/departmental policy.
  • Issue and expedite purchase orders for goods and services needed for the Agua Caliente Casino Rancho Mirage and the Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs.
  • Determine vendor selection based on quality, service and price with a focus on delivering the greatest possible value for the company.
  • Track supplier performance to include on time deliveries, fill rates, meeting product specifications and the suppliers ability to offer other value added alternatives.
  • Assist internal customers with product specification development.
  • In coordination with Procurement & Sourcing Manager and the Procurement Supervisors, Identify cost savings and process efficiency opportunities for the company.
  • Provide timely and accurate communication to internal customers and company management.
  • Perform other job related duties as needed.
Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Hotel Administration, Business or Accounting/Finance preferred.
  • Five years of procurement experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to communicate in English in both oral and written form.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Purchasing a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 miles climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift.
  • Typically the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but will escalate when located in the casino environment. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 30 pounds on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
