A little about this position:
- Provides First-Aid, Mountain Safety and Snow Safety services within the ski area boundary and all other off mountain activities.
You must have advanced Alpine Skiing skills (sorry, no Telemark Skiing or Snowboarding until you have successfully finished one season on patrol at Mammoth). During your first season, you will be trained in slope-specific First Aid, Hill Safety, Snow Safety and Mammoth Mountain Operations. - Please note: This application is for openings for the 2023-2024 winter season. Once you have filled out the online application, please call Main Lodge Ski Patrol at 760-934-0676 to schedule either a Ski Evaluation only or a Shadow Day. The Shadow day is in conjunction with your ski evaluation and includes being paired with a current ski patroller for the day. You will be asked to help with work duties and possibly assist with dispatch calls.
Requirements:
- Patrol candidates must be at least 21 years of age and either be able to obtain or currently have one of the following; Emergency Medical Responder, EMT, Outdoor Emergency Care, Wilderness First Responder. In addition, you will need a current certification for CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
- Offers of employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation and all hired applicants will go through the Ski Patroller Training course. Ski Patroller Employment will be contingent on passing this training.
- We will only consider non US citizen applicants for this position who have previous pro patrol experience and have strong references.
