This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Part-Time Advising Staff Assistant who will be all-in on our mission and who will provide administrative support and services to quickly and effectively solve students’ needs.

EDUCATION

• Required: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Preferred: Some college coursework

EXPERIENCE

• Required: Experience working in a customer service environment.
• Preferred: Experience working in a high traffic office environment preferred. Bilingual preferred.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with scheduling appointments and maintain accurate records.

• Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, and staff about the academic advising process.

• Assist with the maintenance of student files and records.

• Assist with student registration and track and monitor student progress.

• Work in collaboration with faculty and staff to support students in achieving their academic goals.

• Prepare, maintain and update records, databases, spreadsheets, and reports related to advising.

• Prepare various program and/or departmental correspondence, letters, memos, forms, reports, manuals, databases, photocopies, and/or faxes.

• Answer phone calls, take messages and direct calls as appropriate.

• Receive and screen visitors and assists walk-in traffic.

• Assist faculty, students, and administrative personnel.

• Participate in and complete performance assessments/evaluations as assigned.

• Perform other related duties as required.

Salary: Amarillo College - Salary Schedules (actx.edu), Pay grade 3 (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).

Work Conditions: This is a part time position not to exceed 19 hours/week.
