SUMMARY: Coordinates financial interface from ERP to corporate financial statements. Supervises Staff Accountant for general ledger.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:


  • Participates as directed by the Corporate Controller in physical inventory and period end inventory valuation
  • Acts as accounting/finance group interface with ERP system (i.e. ‘Syspro expert’, understands Syspro and how it feeds the financial statements)
  • Develops reports within Syspro (i.e. ‘report writing’)
  • Supervises finance related ERP implementation of projects as required (i.e. fixed asset conversion from current platform to Syspro module)
  • Supervises Staff Accountant; ensures sufficient cross training and backup coverage for time sensitive functions
  • Conducts all activities in accordance with the safety procedures and guidelines
  • Utilizes and follows quality policy and operating procedures to insure the quality and consistency of the job being performed
  • Promotes OCC’s service excellence and quality. Provides excellent service to customers; builds strong relationships and team cohesiveness; focuses on quality and positive solutions; communicates respectfully; demonstrates compassion and understanding in response to customer request/needs
  • Champions OCC’s vision and values; complies with policies and procedures, ethical standards and Code of Conduct


JOB SCOPE:


  • Supervises Staff Accountant with general ledger duties
  • Communicates with all levels of employees regarding matters of financial concern
  • Manages confidential and proprietary financial information
  • High level of judgment and decision making required within accounting guidelines and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. Refers appropriate issues to Corporation Controller
  • Overnight/out of state travel limited but may be occasionally required


ESSENTIAL SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Excellent computer skills required with experience using software packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to properly compile and maintain financial data.
  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of ERP software financial modules
  • Ability to read and follow basic instructions, ability to understand and implement quality procedures. Math and handwriting skills required and the ability to correctly complete all paperwork
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required with the demonstrated ability to express oneself clearly and concisely. Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with close attention to detail; the ability to complete assignments and accurately recognize and help resolve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and maintain confidential information


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
3+ years related accounting/finance experience, a BA/BS degree in accounting preferred as well as excellent analysis skills and ability to collaborate with a multi-departmental team.


WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a sedentary job which requires a sighted individual (vision corrected to 20/20) for computer usage and significant English reading skills. This work also requires an individual with normal hearing (i.e., hearing corrected to normal ranges) for telephone contact with employees and customers as well as for taking and relaying messages.
