  • Michigan First is growing rapidly and as a result, we are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist who can take our talent sourcing and acquisition process to the next level.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists with the entire talent acquisition process, including:
    • Helps to establish recruiting/selection requirements through understanding credit union hiring objectives
    • Meeting with leaders to understand open positions and required skills and experience required for success.
    • Supports and executes on the recruiting/selection strategy to source a diverse pool of qualified candidates.
    • Conducts phone screens. Provide candidate assessments to hiring leaders.
    • Coordinates on-site interviews and evaluations from leaders
    • Assist leaders in development of offers to ensure consistency in job families and identifies needs/obstacles to get to acceptance.
    • Initiates candidate assessments (pre-hire) and background check and drug testing (post-hire).
    • Ensures transition of new hire through the entire recruiting/selection and onboarding process.
    • Ensures required data is captured in Applicant Tracking System (iCIMS) to ensure accurate compliance reporting.
  • With Marketing Team, utilizes social media to develop and maintain a pool of “warm” candidates for future hiring needs.
  • Builds applicant sources by developing relationships with industry groups, community services, colleges, employment agencies, and search firms. Effectively utilize database search tools to identify passive candidates.
  • Creates and implements new promotions or enhance existing programs to increase pool of qualified candidates (e.g. team member referral program)
  • Tracks key metrics of hiring process. Provides reports and analysis to leadership. Make recommendations for process improvement to HR Leadership
  • Performs other HR functional responsibilities, as and where/when appropriate.
  • Becomes/is an advocate of The Michigan First Way, supporting all facets of it, including complete fulfillment of Our Promise, 5 STARS Service, SOLVE IT and our ISMs. Fosters a positive demeanor and image through professional representation in all contacts with both, team members and members.   • Learns and utilizes EMEC (Every Member’s Experience Counts) in day-to-day responsibilities when communicating with members only.
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution. Degree in Human Resources, Communications, and/or Business Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience, specifically in talent acquisition, networking and building targeted selection strategies. Experience with working for and/or with recruiting/search firms is a huge plus.
  • Additional experience in other functional areas of HR is also a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legal requirements for recruiting process (e.g. EEO, background checks, drug screening)
  • Experience/proficiency with office technology including Applicant Tracking Systems, HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Able to confidently communicate, including making presentations to team members, hiring Leaders and candidates.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve issues with minimal direction and oversight from HR Leadership.
  • Strong ability to protect confidentiality of HR and team member information is a must.
