Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. is seeking a qualified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) for our TASC(Treatment Accountability for Safer Communities) Program in the following counties:

Cumberland

This position is supported by our regional offices in Cumberland and Craven Counties, NC., and is a remote position that requires traveling.

The PSS promotes consumer engagement in therapy with clinicians, engagement with psychiatric appointments, involvement and engagement with wellness services and recovery support, and engagement with primary care; completes all tracking and reporting requirements for outcomes and evaluation and documents services provided; and assists clients in a variety of ways – transportation, sharing of personal recovery stories, etc. The PSS works directly with the Cumberland County Care Managers to ensure continuity of care and engages in a team approach in the provision of services with TASC, probation, treatment providers, and support services.

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

HS Diploma/Equivalent or higher, combined with knowledge of wellness and recovery-based concepts. Lived experiences with mental health and/or substance use disorders and at least one year of recovery. Must have completed or be willing to complete the Peer Support Specialist Certification Program.
