Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Unit Computing Manager for University Enrollment Services. Under the direction of the System Administrator, the UCM will deploy and support 100 +/- PC’s and users.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Facilitates equipment procurement requests.
  • Responds to ticket requests made in KACE and ServiceNow queues.
  • Documents processes and ensures that structure is provided and followed.
  • Processes new employee onboarding, including permissions in relevant systems both internal and external to Rutgers.
  • Assists with support for University Salesforce and OSFP systems.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of computer administration/support experience, preferably in a higher education environment.

Certifications/Licenses

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Windows server/client environment, TCP/IP networking.
  • Requires strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse staff in student service environments.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, O365 experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in university computing environments is preferred, as are networks, firewalls, LANs, QWS3270 terminal software, document imaging system support, PHP, HTML/CSS, SQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Sharepoint.
  • Experience with the following hardware is preferred: A/V equipment, network printers.
  • Best practices with system administration (backup, security, replication, virtual machines, update software packages, Hyper-V), and securing clients and mobile devices.
  • Experience with website creation and content management systems as well as cloud services (i.e. Office 365, Laravel, and Salesforce) are preferred.

  • Imaging software is utilized, and requires regular maintenance and patching

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and occasionally crawling in tight spaces.
  • Able to move computers, printers, other equipment and storage materials.
