SUMMARY:

The Robot Welder has primary responsibility to operate a Robot Welding machine. They will maintain the robot welder and make sure parts are being accurately welded. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy and timeliness in the parts area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Operate, program, maintain and troubleshoot welding robot
  • Observe robot in operation to maintain safety, quality, and throughput
  • Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
  • Communicate with other shifts and departments to aid in maintaining part quality to acceptable.
  • Keep work area, tools, material and equipment clean and orderly.
  • Work in Parts departments when not operating welding robot.
  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
  • Must be able to properly and safely lift up to 50 lbs. pounds.
  • Employee will not lift by self any items over 50lbs, you will ask for assistance.
  • You will familiarize yourself on proper lifting and turning procedures using legs –not your back.
  • Must be able to properly and safely operate machinery, as trained and authorized to do so by company.
  • Do not use machinery that you are not familiar with and have not been instructed in proper use techniques.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

Must be physically able to lift 50lbs. Must be able to perform the job in a standing position for a length of shift. Must have welding experience using Tig/Mig Welder and adjusting amps on the welding machine. Must be able to use 1-2 lbs. hammer.

This is semi-strenuous work requiring good correct vision, lifting, stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, pulling, tuning, and walking from one workstation to another.

All safety procedures must be followed and equipment worn properly.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous robotic weld work experience (preferred)
  • At least 2 years of work-related experience (working in a manufacturing / production work environment, or machine shop.) (Preferred)
  • Basic computer knowledge

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to speak and read in either English or Spanish

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic addition and subtraction.
