Job description
Position: Instructor in the Welding Technology Program at Escambia County Work Annex. This is a full-time,10-month teaching position with the opportunity to earn additional salary in the summer months. The daily hours are 6:00 am- 4:00 pm, Monday-Wednesday, and 7:30 am- 3:00 pm on Thursday (37.5 hours/week). This position will begin on June 1, 2023 and is a program through George Stone Technical College (GSTC).
Duties and Responsibilities: Instructional duties will include providing instruction for students in the welding program, preparing students to obtain any applicable certifications in this area and assisting students with employment opportunities. Additional duties include developing and maintaining industry partners, working with a program advisory council, and working closely with the administration and district workforce education department to maintain and update the program as needed.
Requirements: A minimum of six years full-time or the equivalent of part-time occupational experience in welding occupations. Applicants must also have applicable certifications and/or post-secondary level coursework in the welding area.
