PRIMARY PURPOSE:


Responsible for the Implementation of the STOP Preventing School Violence by promoting and
strengthening partnerships between schools, community organizations, government agencies to increase
student academic achievement and safety through evidence based mental health programs, staff training
events, and community programs to prevent violence for students and their families.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED, required
Bachelor’s degree, preferred
Valid Texas Driver’s License, required


Special Knowledge/Skills:
Communicate effectively (verbal and written)
Utilize effective interpersonal skills
Interpretation of data, federal and state law and policies
Plan, organize and coordinate district wide projects
Manage budgets and personnel
Seek, develop and submit proposals
Utilize advanced technology and computer skills
Knowledge of grant metrics and reporting
Gather and assist in analyzing data and write reports related to the STOP Preventing School Violence grant
Create an atmosphere of trust and collaboration among staff to promote professional growth


Experience:
One (1) year of experience in the field of mental health, social work, or education, preferred
Experience working with students or relevant K-12 experience
Knowledge of staff development, preferred


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Responsible for overall planning, implementation, and budget for the STOP grant.
2. Assist Program Manager and Family Treatment Program personnel with promoting and strengthening
partnerships between schools, community organizations, and government agencies.
3. Assist Program Manager and Family Treatment Program personnel with orientations needed for campus
administrators and teachers with programmatic documents.
4. Assist with trainings and provides support for Family Treatment Program staff members.
5. Assists with mental health triage.
6. Provide staff development and facilitate required grant trainings.
7. Responsible for obtaining data from staff for grant quarterly reports.
8. Attend Family Treatment Program meetings.
9. Responsible for Monthly Progress Reports.
10. Attend Monthly Training and Technical Assistance Meeting for Submission of programmatic
documentation with the Department of Justice.
11. Update a monthly calendar of all STOP grant activities from each of the campuses and departments.
12. Assist Program Manager in maintaining consistent communication with campus administration.
13. Assist in arranging Parental Involvement trainings and meetings at corresponding for STOP grant
activities.
14. Conduct confidential, individual sessions to determine the student’s plan.
15. Receive referrals from assigned school campuses; screen students within the specified time frame;
and develop an appropriate intervention service plan for each student, providing feedback regarding the
student’s progress, or lack of.
16. Observe all State and Federal Laws regarding client confidentiality.
17. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.
18. Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor.

Workdays: 226 Pay Structure: Clerical/Technical 6


Hourly Pay Range:

Minimum: $19.04

Midpoint: $22.81

Maximum: $26.58


Note: Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each person's job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.
