JOB SUMMARY:
Oversees production employees on assigned shifts to ensure production guidelines are being met within established timing, quality, and cost standards. This position also ensures that at all safety procedures and policies are being followed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and evaluating performance of direct reports to maximize employee engagement and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of production data.
  • Assist production staff with the daily operation of assigned area.
  • Plan and coordinate shift activities in assigned area.
  • Plan and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure all company safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required.
  • Promote facility safety programs and a safe working environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of poultry processing environment, supervisory experience, and manufacturing knowledge.
  • Knowledge of yields, plant efficiencies, and operational procedures.
  • Knowledge of food safety programs, including HACCP programs, SSOP’s and GMP’s
  • Knowledge in process improvement principles.
  • Skill in communicating in a courteous and professional manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Skill in prioritizing work.
  • Skill in using a personal computer and a variety of software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Ability to stand or walk for entire 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to be a good representative of the Company.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two years’ work experience in a related field, including previous supervisory experience. Bi-lingual skills preferred. College degree preferred, however, experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
