Job Purpose:
This position serves as the primary contact for assigned credit unions and is responsible for establishing, developing, and continually enhancing the overall relationship in order to develop new sales, growth, retention, and cross-sell opportunities. This position leverages consultative techniques and knowledge of CUNA Mutual Group value and financial marketplace acumen to support credit union growth through collaborative partnerships. This role is assigned a territory of credit union accounts in the Select Segment.
***Territory of coverage will be Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio. This is a remote position, but someone living in the territory or same time zone is preferred.
Job Responsibilities: List of general activities, duties and/or tasks typically performed within the job
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with assigned credit unions. Continually enhance and build upon overall business relationship through consultative techniques as measured through new sales and overall revenue growth.
  • Establish a strong working relationship with credit union contacts and other business partners.
  • Proactively conduct strategic conversations with accounts to gather detailed information to enable analysis and prioritization of information resulting in the development of profitable growth, optimization, and retention strategies.
  • Develop and execute a focused acquisition strategy for new sales opportunities
  • Lead a cross-discipline account team, leverage knowledge of all CUNA Mutual Group products, tools and resources to support the strategic plan of the assigned credit union.
  • Manage individual performance to sales and territory plans. Based on insights from metrics and scorecards, design and implement specific action plans for growth, optimization and retention to increase profitability.
  • Develop and deliver proposals for acquiring the identified revenue opportunities; forecast and report on sales activity.
  • Maintain ongoing, timely knowledge and awareness of activities and challenges/opportunities within assigned accounts; ensure use of the established sales management system (Salesforce.com) on an ongoing basis.
  • Proactively coach assigned credit unions to grow their programs and existing book of business.

Job Requirements:
List of general education, background and experience, knowledge, skills and abilities typically required to effectively perform the responsibilities of the job. Also include any required licenses and/or designations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Insurance or related field or an equivalent trade-off of related professional work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Strong sales aptitude and proven track record of success.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CUNA Mutual Group products and services, with in-depth understanding of the customers, business, industry, and market preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, plan projects and maintain deadlines with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow complex processes, with aptitude for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, relationship building, problem-solving skills, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate computer technology into sales processes.
  • Demonstrated strong collaboration and teamwork abilities. Demonstrated ability to effectively build business relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Proven experience in developing strategies which will improve competitive position.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver effective presentations.
  • Life and Health Insurance License and P&C License (both resident and non-resident immediately upon or 90 days after employment).
  • Up to 20% travel required.

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.

Base Salary Range:
$86,000.00 - $129,000.00
