Join us for the most INTERESTING summer as one of our Archive Assistants for the upcoming Interlochen Arts Camp season. This is a great opportunity for those interested in an archival career. This position serves on the front lines of Interlochen?s young institutional archives initiative. The dates of the contract are 6/19/23-8/6/23. This is a paid position. Housing and ALL meals are included with this position!

Major Responsibilities:

  • Providing much needed assistance in the organization of the archives
  • Conducting inventories across campus
  • Assisting in the digitization, cataloging of print and photographic archival materials, and assisting the archivist in a variety of capacities
  • Handling, processing, and cataloging archival materials by providing standard metadata
  • Handling negatives, slides, and print photographic materials

This position will be sharing its time (40 hrs/week) between the Institutional Archives and Photo Archives. Other assignments depend upon the interests and skills of the intern.

Required Experience:


  • Applicants currently in an MLS or archival studies program are preferred
  • Proficient with technology
  • Extremely detailed oriented, able to work well within a framework
  • Willing to participate in a team environment.
