Job description

We are looking for a Gardener to add to our Garden Groomer Crew. Tasks for the job include: install and maintain the flowers, trees and green spaces on the property. Gardener responsibilities include monitoring the health of all plants and greenscapes, watering and feeding plants, trimming trees and shrubs, weeding gardens and keeping green spaces and walkways clear of debris and litter. You should know how to use and maintain landscaping equipment such as clippers, hedge trimmer’s, chainsaws, leaf blowers and more, while following health and safety regulations. Ultimately, you will help make sure our clients’ gardens and green spaces are always healthy and beautiful.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain seasonal plants
• Mulch, edge and weed gardens
• Prune and trim trees and bushes
• Maintain all gardening equipment and machinery, like clippers, trimmers and leaf blowers
• Monitor and maintain the health of plants (report when plants look sick)
• Keep gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter
• Fill planters with seasonally appropriate plantings (annuals)

Skills

• Experience as a Gardener is helpful! But we firmly believe in training the right candidates.
• Familiarity with landscaping design
• Basic knowledge of regional plant life
• The ability to lift heavy objects
• The ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time
• A love of the outdoors and plant life
• A high school degree or GED
• Punctuality

Our season runs from April to November, we are looking to hire someone who is available throughout the whole season and would ultimately love to join us season after season. Crew members who’ve been with us for over 2 years become a crew lead, gaining more responsibilities and pay.

We work anywhere from 3-8 hours per day, 4-5 days per week. Hours depend on weather!
